Oxygen primed and ready to bring ERP efficiencies to NSW Government
"Build once, use many times" is the mantra the New South Wales (NSW) Government needs to adopt in order to extract the best value out of its ERP application infrastructure, says Oxygen Business Manager, Wayne Baker.

Prior to becoming an SAP consultant, Baker spent around 25 years in the public sector. During this time he fulfilled a wide variety of roles and rose to assume financial control of a number of public sector organisations. He says his experience has given him a good insight into the unique challenges affecting public sector organisations.
"Unlike private sector companies, governmental departments have to deal with a lot more red tape with regards to managing budgets, procurement and reporting. Developing solutions to handle the underlying processes that drive these activities and deploying them to work across departmental boundaries is essential. It will help drive both performance and efficiency across the whole organisation."

He says many financial and IT executives within the public sector are outstanding operators working in a difficult environment. "Their expertise is often underrated, because they have to cope with a great deal of complexity and bureaucracy.
